How 3M Edge Sealing Tape Works

Here’s a great video featuring Justin Pate – It demonstrates how 3M Edge Sealing Tape can be used to prolong a graphics lifespan, and prevent problems from happening.

3M Edge Sealing Tape is an optically clear 0.5″ tape that can be applied to the edge of graphic films and vinyl wraps in areas where extra protection or adhesion would be required.

We use edge sealing tape on our cab corners, between boxes and cabs on pickup trucks, along bottom of bumpers. Edge sealing tape can also be used on areas where a lot of stretch/heat was used in order to prevent fingering, and retracting of the films. It’s a great way to prolong the lifespan of vinyl wraps in areas where a lot of stretch was used on the films and is recommended especially to use on cab corners and edges.

3M Edge Sealing Tape prevents moisture and chemicals from getting under the edge of wraps in high stretch areas and helps to keep high stretch areas from failing. It’s also required to use on boat wraps to prevent water and moisture from entering the wrap.

3M Edge Sealing Tape is available in Matte and Gloss finishes.
